BIM Show Live 2018 calls for speakers

Calling all BIM specialists, BIM Show Live 2018 is seeking speakers to create the best line-up of construction industry leaders and achievers.

BIM Show Live 2018 has now officially opened its call for papers. This is where the show invites interest from potential speakers to be part of the content programme.  Submissions opened on Tuesday 19 September and will run until Thursday 16 November.

BIM Show Live is best known for its high-profile, content-driven approach to digital construction, this forward-thinking show is the model interpretation of modern construction methods, techniques and technologies. Which is why it is inviting everyone and anyone with a passion for BIM to come forward and request a speaker place.

For a second year in a row, Newcastle upon Tyne will play host to this engaging two-day event, which will be held on Wednesday 28 February and Thursday 1 March 2018, bringing together global construction professionals from all aspects of the built environment.

The UK is an international leader in BIM and BIM Show Live is a driving force for the implementation of BIM processes after having grown over the past seven years into one of the most trusted information-sharing platforms for digital construction.

Once again the programme will be split across four content streams: Next Generation, Data, Strategy and Stories. Rob Charlton, CEO of Space Group, the founders of BIM Show Live, explains what they are looking for from speakers:

Next Generation

This stream is for the adventurous amongst us, the risk-takers who look for new challenges and embrace change like it’s their best friend. We showcase the new, the daring and of course the extreme at BIM Show Live, so for this stream we want to be wowed!

Strategy

A great strategy allows you to get behind the thinking, what makes a project tick and what drives success. No holds barred, this is the catalyst of BIM; the why’s, the how’s and most importantly what did you learn?

Data

We want to showcase the next generation of data driven technologies from the world of digital construction, providing our visitors with an opportunity to explore and discover the practical and successful implementation of BIM which is driving business forward.

Stories

One thing we have learnt over the past seven years is that stories make the most popular sessions.  How all of this is put into action in the real world; where it all went right, and where it all went wrong; what did we learn, and what would we do next time.  Tell your story, your way!

Continuing on from the last show, when it promised to provide visitors with all they needed to know about how to build better with BIM, how to make it work for them and capitalise on its opportunities, in 2018 the show will explore the developments of the past 12 months as well as looking forward to emerging trends which will drive and secure the continual digitisation of the construction industry for a truly Digital Built Britain.

Rob went on to share some of the plans for the 2018 show; “At BIM Show Live we share the best ideas, the latest innovations and show you things you’ve never seen before. But most importantly, we want to reveal some of the most magnificent achievements gained through the implementation of BIM in the built environment. Our mission is to enable the present and future leaders, who recognise the synergies created by BIM, to drive change.”

Rob added: “We’re looking for the brightest minds and the best ideas, those who share our appetite for all things digital, and believe in the power of technology.”
