Glodon sign BIM deal with AECOM for Suzhou sports center complex in China

Glodon Software are to provide AECOM with Building Information Modelling solutions for their incredibly exciting sports center construction in China.

Designed by NBBJ, Suzhou Industrial Park Sports Center is a 60 hectare development and will be home to a a series of buildings that can house up to 80,000 spectators, that’s according to SouthCN.

A stadium is the vocal point of the development, and according to ArchDaily, will be one of the lightest structures of its kind in the world, using less materials to complete than most stadiums. The roof is also the country’s largest single-span cable net design – 260 metres in length.

Other parts of the projects include an 18,000 seat indoor arena, two museums, an aquatics complex, a theatre, and more.

BIM application is said to be taken “very seriously”, as it will allow the project to be US Green Building LEED-NC Silver certified once completed in 2017.
