Asite have announced their latest collaboration with the UK Government, supporting them as part of Crown Commercial Service’s G-Cloud 7 Programme.

The G-Cloud initiative was established so that public sector organisations will have a single repository of cloud-based IT solutions that can be accessed easily. G-Cloud will be available through Digital Marketplace a cloud IT online store.

The official press release notes that “in future, when procuring new or existing services, public sector organisations should consider and fully evaluate potential cloud solutions first – before they consider any other option”, an approach strong recommended for the public sector and mandatory for central government.

Asite were appointed in frameworks 5 & 6 prior to G-Cloud 7’s launch, a move which will now mean that public sector businesses can procure Asite from G-Cloud’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) category.

Tony Ryan, Asite’s CEO commented: “Our appointment to the G-Cloud framework builds on our long-standing relationships providing project collaboration services in the cloud to UK government. Together with our longstanding commitment to supporting the government’s Construction Strategy and in particular the achievement of Level 2 BIM with our cBIM service, we are fully committed to the improvement of procurement in UK construction.”

2016 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for Asite. In April, the group will launch their next Build Earth Live competition.
