Next month, UK Construction Week arrives in Birmingham and the 6-day event is set to demonstrate just how powerful a worldwide entity the United Kingdom is when it comes to construction.

Taking place at the NEC Arena from October 6th – 11th, everything from energy, HVAC, smart buildings and timber will be up for discussion, yet attention will turn to BIM one month today on October 8th.

In a panel discussion hosted by Channel 4 News anchor, Krishan Guru-Murthy, five international BIM brains will come together to debate The outlook for BIM in UK construction and building. The esteemed panel includes Andy Sneyd of Laing O’Rourke, Frank McLeod of WSP/Parsons Brinckerhoff, Jeremy Watson of the BRE, Nick Tune of coBuilder and Sasha Reed of Bluebeam Software.

Sasha will discuss the panel in a future episode of Crunch Time that will be published to BIMcrunch next week.

Elsewhere on October 8th, representatives from B&ES, CIAT and ICE will debate how BIM can support collaboration and which obstacles still remain to its adoption, ensuring that a substantial amount of BIM content will be on the agenda that day!
