Geospatial industry group The Association for Geographic Information (AGI) have announced Building Information Modelling representation at one of their biggest events in November.

GeoCom: Resilient Futures is set to take place in Warwickshire on November 23rd – 25th and the BIM Task Group‘s Mark Bew has been confirmed as an invited speaker.

Bew is currently the sole BIM representative at the conference, yet more speakers are to be announced shortly, so perhaps more discussion on BIM integration with GIS could come as a result of future announcements.

A ‘Big Debate’ will also take place at the conference, and the following topics will be discussed: Privacy; The role of ‘where’ in managing ‘things’; Is there a need to legislate?; Smart Energy; How do you pay for free? Sounds like ingredients for a fantastic discussion is you ask us!

AGI have had BIM-related involvement in past events, including one of their Geo: Big 5 series.
