Construction company Dragados have begun work on erecting the new civic centre in the La Victoria district of Valladolid, Spain.

Building Information Modelling has been adopted for the project, which when finished will be one of 16 civic centres in the city. The 3,000sqm project is set for completion in the first quarter of 2017 and worked commenced last month.

The centre will feature a 360 seat theatre, 11 function rooms, offices and a 300sqm library, that’s according to El Día de Valladolid.

Dragados are utilising BIM on the €1.9 million to accommodate “efficient and intelligent building maintenance”. Back in May when they won the project, Europa Press reported that they were selected due to putting forward “the most advantageous offer”.
