We are delighted to today reveal exclusive details on two upcoming projects from Building Information Modelling video channel The B1M, including the launch of a brand new monthly series and the return of a popular social-media orientated season of videos.

The B1M are to partner with construction collaboration brand BaseStone to jointly bring their audiences D-Construct, a new show reviewing the hottest and most cutting edge new technology in the construction industry once per month.

The name means “digital construction innovations, deconstructed and explained”, a deconstruction within itself. We see what you did there!

Their partnership was teased in a tweet last week, yet BIMcrunch are the only outlet to receive the exciting further details.

Commenting on the new video series that will premier on September 30th, 2015, one of The B1M’s Co-Founders Fred Mills told us: “BIM is ultimately all about the digitisation of our industry. There are some fantastic tech innovations out there in construction, developed by start-ups looking to solve problems and really benefit people.

“With D-Construct we want to shine a light on their work and help mainstream uptake. BaseStone are the perfect partners for this and if the fun we’ve had developing the format is anything to go by the videos are going to make great viewing.”

BaseStone’s Community Officer, Priya Joshi also provided us with official comment, stating: “After receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from Construct//Disrupt in June, we saw how important it was to provide an open and determined platform for innovation in construction.

“D-Construct is an exciting collaboration between The B1M and BaseStone where we’ll investigate and showcase digital technologies transforming the AEC industries. Bold innovations are often pushed to the edges of our industry; D-Construct will give them center stage in hopes that we’ll inspire future innovators and stimulate industry adoption.”

BaseStone and The B1M’s relationship stems from Fred Mills’ appearances as a speaker at BaseStone’s incredibly popular event, CONSTRUCT//DISRUPT. A video of Fred’s presentation can be viewed here, and pictures are here.

Elsewhere, we broke the story of the return of #SocialBIM back in June. #SocialBIM is the popular series looking at how social media can aid workflows, and stars social strategist, Su Butcher.

We are delighted to reveal that filming will take place this Thursday (August 13th, 2015), and The B1M Co-Founder, Tom Payne expressed his excitement to us about working with Su again:

“It’s great to be filming a second series with Su; she’s a natural in front of the camera because she knows her stuff inside out. The vlog format is really powerful for YouTube at the moment and the subjects we’re discussing are perfect for that conversational style.”

We will bring you more news on The B1M’s upcoming videos in the near future. In the meantime, follow The B1M on Twitter.
