Hot on the heels of our Crunch Time interview preview from earlier in which BrisBIM event Committee Member, Tom de Plater told us that he had hearing murmurs of a SydBIM event being in the works, the Sydney-based Building Information Modelling conference have confirmed their existence.

The @SydBIM account on Twitter had been created prior to the article going live, with some BIM professionals already following the profile. Following our tweet featuring their social media handle, they added their official logo and replied to us, affirming their presence.

SydBIM is the latest Australian event that is taking inspiration from the likes of BrisBIM and MelBIM, symposiums hailing from Brisbane and Melbourne respectively. The SydBIM account also tweeted a few more times, confirming that Atlas IndustriesStephan Langella is the Chairman, a fact that is also backed up via his LinkedIn account.

The brand have also set up an official website, which will be updated in due course.

What do you make of the news? Are any you Sydney-based professionals out there excited?
