launched, website now live

bimstore US 2 is now live.

The hotly-anticipated BIM object library is now accessible in the US market, following the success of bimstore in the UK that has been running for four years and started a highly competitive market of content creation platforms.

Whilst specifiers across the world can access either portal, selecting components and then being unable to actually put them in your actual build would be a serious problem. Now, US architects and the like can see which companies have distribution centres in the States, ensuring that projects they specify for can have the correct products within them.

At launch, eight manufacturers (who also are available on as a matter of fact) have content available for potential US customers. They are: Bailey, Big Foot Systems, BLÜCHER, Dortek, Fabricated Products, Grohe, Jaga and Moduflex. US businesses are set to follow suit in the next few months.

Speaking of the launch, bimstore Director Rob Charlton said: “Developing bimstore into North America has always been in our plans. However we wanted to wait until we found the right partner who had the same passion for digital construction as we do. We have no doubt we have found that partner in Read | Thomas. We have known Phil and Adam for a number of years and are delighted to be working together.”

bimstore Founder Adam Ward and Founders of Read | Thomas – bimstore’s US partners – Adam Thomas and Phil Read will be on-hand at RTC’s Building Content Summit later today, where they will deliver the keynote presentation explaining everything that they need to know about the portal. The US mascot Bill the Buffalo is sure to be on-hand too via ‘video link’!
