A new article published in a UK newspaper has looked at a BIM project tackling the addition of an IMRI suite to a Liverpool health facility that “sets the benchmark for neuro-surgical facilities”.

The Liverpool Echo has cast the spotlight onto work scheduled to take place on The Walton Centre hospital that will see Steven Hunt & Associates act as mechanical and electrical installation engineers, a local firm that will work closely with the NHS Trust’s construction partner, Interserve.

Steven Hunt & Associates will design all air handling and electrical services, theatre pendants, control and surgeon’s panels as part of the £2.5 million development that will commence in the Autumn.

Steve Holland, Estates Manager at Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This new facility brings global best practice in neuro-surgical care to the UK and will enable our surgeons to gain accurate, real-time information about their patients during a procedure.

“It was essential that we pull together a team with specialist expertise to deliver such a ground breaking project and Steven Hunt & Associates’ proven track record in progressive healthcare environments is very impressive.”
