The winners of Best SME BIM Project – Small or Micro Enterprise at the RICS BIM4SME Awards 2015 have commented on being the first-ever recipients of the prestigious honour.

Howard Russell Construction of Newcastle, United Kingdom bested four other practices to the prize at the BIM4SME and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors-backed event held on June 18th, 2015 in London.

Craig Muldoon, Pre-construction Manager at Howard Russell said: “We’re delighted to have won this award. It is a fantastic achievement for the team at Howard Russell and proves that BIM is not just for large national contractors and benefits the contractor as much as the client.

“Becoming BIM Level 2 compliant and winning this award puts us at the forefront of the BIM working environment not only in the North East but on a national level. We have had numerous enquiries from London based companies and we firmly believe that these will lead to further new instructions and in turn create new jobs within the company.”

The Director of Built Environment at RICS recently commented on the inaugural awards ceremony, and we also published a Twitter reactions round-up compiling the thoughts of those in attendance. A full list of the winners can also be found via this link.
