HOCHTIEF ViCon are celebrating after being appointed to implement Building Information Modelling services for a stretch of infrastructure in Qatar.

Work on the Red Line North EAG (Elevated and At-Grade) section of the Doha Metro began in 2014, yet will take over three years to complete, hence HOCHTIEF ViCon’s involvement at this slightly later stage.

The RLR JV collective – a consortium comprising Rizzani de Eccher of Italy, South Korea’s Lotte Engineering & Construction, and Redco of Qatar – are in charge of the project and selected ViCon to carry out work on “initial BIM implementation documents consisting of an implementation plan and the modeling guidelines”, according to the official press release.

ViCon will also coordinate the introduction of BIM and initiate the collaboration between the various parties involved in the project. Their past experience of working on other parts of the Doha Metro including Metro Green Line UG (Underground) and the Metro Red Line South UG means that the firm are most certainly a suitable candidate to complete this latest work with ease.
