Which contractor is first to receive BIM Level 2 certification from BRE?

The BRE‘s Global Badge of Compliance is a coveted independent certification hailed by industry as a respected mark of quality for those who are awarded it. The first main contractor in the UK has just become certified and is the third BIM-related business to achieve the honour – yet who is it?

Joining the certified BDP and Lloyds Register, Interserve have been identified as BIM Level 2 compliant by BRE, a validation they have described as an “incredibly proud” moment.

“We are incredibly proud to be the first contractor to have achieved this certification,” stated an overjoyed Ian Renhard, Managing Director of Interserve Construction. “It is concrete evidence of Interserve’s commitment to BIM as a key vehicle for delivering the best value to our customers.”

With 2016 just around the corner, accreditation from the BRE Global Business Systems Certification Scheme will certainly be verification that will set Interserve apart from its competitors. Construction Enquirer reports that Interserve’s BIM practices and protocols were subject to a two day audit as part of BRE’s measuring of success.

Alex Jones, Interserve’s National BIM Manager says that this milestone is “definitely earned”:

“We have definitely earned this certification and we are very proud, having implemented UK BIM standards across demanding public and private sector projects. This is another milestone for Interserve as we transition from analogue to digital in preparation for the 2025 construction strategy target.”
