Available to view now on The B1M’s official YouTube channel, Episode 2 of the series sees the Social Strategist and B1M Inspirer give top tips on how Building Information Modelling professionals can get the most out of their online experience to benefits not only their projects but also to better understand other areas of a project lifecycle to enrich themselves.
Su asks: “How can you participate in this community that we are developing?
“There is also some other things that you may think about doing. For example, where is your level of expertise when it comes to BIM? What do you know about? What have you learned about that you could write about yourself and that you could share with other people?”
Not only is social media of use for educating and helping others. Just like you may help someone on Twitter, likewise, there will also be someone with the answers that you need to know too. Su elaborated:
“Also, what do you want to know about? What do you need to learn about? Think about whether you could google those topics, whether you find people having those conversations and if you can join those conversations.”
Just like how construction projects are more collaborative thanks to BIM, the construction sector is also more collaborative thanks to BIM and social media.
