Renowned industry group BIM4SME have commented on the shortlist for their and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors‘ joint awards ceremony that will commemorate the inspirational BIM projects being carried out by small to medium enterprises in the United Kingdom.

The RICS BIM4SME Awards 2015 will take place on June 18th, 2015 at London’s Westminster Boating Base with the likes of Bond Bryan Architects, Howard Russell Construction and Michael Aubrey Partnership in the running for prizes. BIMcrunch reported on the shortlist of finalists yesterday.

BIM4SME have now posted an official blog post with reasoning as to why the nominees chosen when the ones selected to reach the final.

RICS’ Director of Built Environment Alan Muse commented on the impending ceremony that will celebrate 2015’s best of the best. He said: “We’re extremely excited to present these first awards aimed at the SME and welcome such a varied and skilled group of professionals to our first RICS BIM4SME Awards. Each of these nominated SMEs has displayed a great knowledge and understanding of BIM, whilst being instrumental in pushing the BIM agenda amongst their peers.

“These awards will support in recognising and promoting SME achievements and the great benefits of BIM in today’s construction and built environment industry. Technology in general will drive the future skills agenda, and BIM is at the heart of this trend. For smaller companies, investment in technical skills such as BIM provide an opportunity to differentiate their business offering. Something which RICS fully supports and hopes to continue driving in the future through the BIM focused products and services it offers. This also continues our close association with the BIM4SME working group and our mutual undertaking to ensure that the SME sector is properly represented.”

Awards nominees have also taken to Twitter to express their excitement at being in the running for a gong. A selection of reactions can be found below:
