CMS Window Systems have released information regarding their Building Information Modelling journey, in-turn disclosing the amount of money they have invested to ensure that architects have their products available to them when creating 3D models.

Building Talk have reported that the company have spent £50,000 to create their portfolio of building envelope solutions “to support architects who are designing and managing their projects with BIM”.

Official comment from CMS’ Technical Manager Gordon Moffat relating to the BIM releases was published to the manufacturer’s official website. Moffat said: “BIM is no longer a ‘nice to have’ – legislation has fixed deadlines for BIM to become the standard approach given collaborative working and consistency benefits that it brings. CMS is once again ahead of the curve recognising that a BIM-enabled supply chain is crucial for main contractors to deliver optimum results on BIM projects.”

Aluminium curtain walling facades, doors and windows make up the collection of BIM content available following CMS’ talks with main contractors and local authorities “to outline a robust BIM strategy”.
