Wates Group “investing in BIM” as construction turnover rockets by 22%

Wates Group are celebrating after new figures published show “steady growth” last year.

Chief Executive Andrew Davies provided comment to Construction Enquirer, explaining that an increased focus on Building Information Modelling can be expected as they invest in “BIM and design expertise”.

Their construction division saw a 22% boost in turnover in 2014, taking their end of year tally to £492 million.

“We are looking at capability-based acquisitions, we are investing in our BIM and design expertise and building services capabilities as well as the development business,” stated Davies.

Wates Group were recently featured on BIMcrunch as their Group Design Director Andrew Barraclough expressed his confidence at the company meeting the United Kingdom Government’s 2016 Level 2 BIM mandate.

“We will achieve that, that’s not an issue for Wates,” said Barraclough.
