EcoBuild 2015 took place from March 3rd to the 5th at Excel London, United Kingdom, with several NBS team members speaking to delegates in attendance such as Adrian Malleson, Daniel Walsh, Stefan Mordue and Dr. Stephen Hamil.
NBS staff discussed various recent BIM developments that they have made, in particular the Government-backed Digital Toolkit. NBS have been working with the likes of BIM Academy, Microsoft and Mott McDonald on the project which will “provide step-by-step support to define, manage and validate responsibility for information development and delivery at each stage of the asset lifecycle”.
Discussing EcoBuild success, NBS’ Ian Chapman stated: “This year’s EcoBuild had a great deal to offer manufacturers. As the Government’s 2016 deadline for Level 2 BIM on all public sector centrally-procured projects approaches, manufacturers need to make sure they’re ready to meet the needs of specifiers.
“NBS answered many questions over the past few days on how manufacturers can be prepared and meet specifier needs. We couldn’t stress enough why providing accurate BIM objects is so important to a product’s success, why standardisation is needed, and how NBS can assist them.”
EcoBuild was not the only place to receive a preview of the Digital Toolkit. In collaboration with the CIC, NBS are currently hosting a workshop series that will give you the latest details on the beta version of the tool.
