GeoBIM 2015 will take place during the INSPIRE – Geospatial World Forum in Lisbon, Portugal. INSPIRE is a five-day infrastructure event held from May 25th to the 29th, yet Building Information Modelling-related discussions will be exclusive to May 28th.
GeoBIM 2015 will be split into four sessions across the day, with each featuring top industry names who will share their experiences to advise and inspire (pun intended!) those in attendance. The sessions will be highly informative, featuring case studies, lectures and panel discussions. They are as follows:
1 – Integrating GIT, BIM and ICT for a Sustainable Infrastructure: This session will focus on advocating the need and importance of integrating Geospatial with … BIM to develop future proof and sustainable infrastructure assets.
2 – Geospatially-Enabled Infrastructure Asset Development and Maintenance: This session will be roll over into two parts with a firm focus on bringing to light the importance of Geospatial in various aspects of development and maintenance of infrastructural assets that includes – Buildings, Roadways, Highways, Utilities (including underground utility assets), etc., that form an integral part of any modern day city.
3 – Geospatially-Enabled Infrastructure Asset Development and Maintenance (cont’d): Further case studies and papers will be presented in this area continuing from the second session.
4 – (Panel Discussion) Integrating Geospatial with BIM and ICT for Optimal ROI on Infrastructure Projects: Many developed countries across the globe are taking rapid steps towards adding more teeth to their infrastructure construction initiatives by adopting BIM as a business process for similar projects purely due to reasons that revolve around having a greater control across the entire project life cycle. This panel discussion will feature experts who will throw light on the importance of integration and will focus on bringing to light the potential of achieving optimal ROI from this initiation.
Speakers will flock from across the globe for the event, with confirmed representation from Belgium, Finland, Italy, South Africa and South Korea. Announced speakers include Tekla‘s Leif Granholm and Cape Peninsula University of Technology‘s Laura Pinfold.
