International architecture, design and engineering practice BDP have announced an Enterprise Business Agreement with Autodesk, the world’s leading supplier of Building Information Modelling software solutions.
BDP is the first business of its kind in the UK to reach such an agreement with Autodesk, which will see the technology juggernaut supply the firm with “support on individual projects and assisting in the development of procedures, workflows and overall BIM implementation”.
BDP have championed Autodesk’s BIM products and have utilised them on a plethora of projects, hence the reason as to why Autodesk are willing to work even closer with them on some landmark projects. Developments that BDP have implemented BIM on include an £850m city centre regeneration, Edinburgh St James and the new National Paediatric Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
“This is a significant step in our BIM journey and I firmly believe that this closer relationship will provide significant benefits, driving efficiency and profitability across all areas of the business,” explained BDP’s Director of Information and Technology, Alistair Kell.
Autodesk’s EMEA Manager, Named Accounts, Paul Fleming also commented on the agreement, praising BDP’s level of innovation. He said: “It is exciting to see the level of innovation going on in forward looking companies like BDP who are looking to push beyond Level 2 BIM.
“As this agreement shows, the BIM journey is about more than just having the right technology in place – the consulting and support that comes with it can be equally crucial to achieving the best results.”
