Earlier this week, thinkBIM were back and this time, they provided a platform for the preview one of the most talked-about technical solutions in the industry.
thinkBIM welcomes NBS to their latest seminar, which attracted over 40 guests, all of whom were eagerly awaiting a fresh and exciting new glimpse of NBS’ Digital Toolkit. Other members of NBS’ team working on the toolkit include BIM Academy, Microsoft and Mott McDonald.
The free-to-use toolkit, which NBS were awarded the contract of by the UK BIM Task Group and Innovate UK, is the final part of the Government’s Level 2 BIM mandate scheme. Once the toolkit is complete, it is to “to provide step-by-step support to define, manage and validate responsibility for information development and delivery at each stage of the asset lifecycle”.
At the event, delegates were treated to a presentation by RIBA Enterprises‘ Andrew Brook on how the toolkit will work and how it will help support those using it with their BIM implementation. He also gave the lucky attendees a live demo of the toolkit, which is so far 50% finished.
thinkBIM have further details on the event, including a Storify of tweets, which can be viewed here.
The next event will spotlight BIM for Manufacturers, aka BIM4M2, who recently released the results of their much-discussed manufacturers survey.
