First ever MelBIM event officially sold out, organisers comment

MelBIM 2

Tickets for the inaugural MelBIM event in Melbourne, Australia have sold out in less than two weeks.

The Aconex-sponsored event – inspired by the BrisBIM event series – was free to attend, with a capacity of 300 delegates. All 300 places were snapped up, with the official Twitter account confirming the news earlier today.

Providing exclusive comment to BIMcrunch regarding the event, MelBIM Co-Founder and Executive Committee Member, IGSLuke Johnston said: “It is a great privilege to work with other industry leaders in organising an important initiative like MelBIM. I’m certain it will become a valuable, enduring part of our industry.

“All going to plan, we intend on hosting MelBIM events every couple of months; similar to the BrisBIM group based in Brisbane (QLD) who have been running greatly successful, free to attend BIM-based events for almost two years now.”

Luke and the 11 other committee members surely have nothing to worry about regarding success due to the lightning-quick response that they have had!

Previously announced to speak at the event were the likes of AECOM‘s Chris Needham and Mitchell Brandtman‘s David Mitchell.

The first-ever MelBIM conference will commence one-week today, February 24th, 2015. BIMcrunch will bring you more on the event in the coming weeks.
