bimstore Eye: When will Android and Windows versions be available?

bimstore Eye 2

Last week, Building Information Modelling content creators bimstore released their brand new Augmented Reality app, bimstore Eye, and an update has been given on new versions.

The app allows the user to view 3D representations of BIM objects thanks to the creative user experience’s unique camera functionality, which scans the brochures of certain products. bimstore specifiers can save time by making sure that they are going to download the right content for their architectural models whilst manufacturers can use it to show off their BIM content. Dual functionality combined with cutting-edge technology – a great mix if you ask us!

After questions came flooding in from interested downloaders to see whether the iOS app would be available for Android and Windows phones too, the app’s creator, BIM.TechnologiesAdam Ward, took to Twitter to address the situation. Interested parties can get in touch with him to become a beta tester:

Ward also gave an update on new products that are now compatible with the application:

Other compatible products that can be scanned have downloadable version of their brochures available for everyone to test online. Those can be found here.

When the app was released last week, bimstore Ward, who is also a bimstore Founder commented: “bimstore Eye is a fun, new way for specifiers to visualise construction products,” Because bimstore Eye is part of our growing ecosystem, we are hoping it will help manufacturers and their sales teams show off their BIM content, whilst specifiers can get a first look at their downloads.”

On our #Bimagery Instagram feed, BIMcrunch Editor Jack got to grips with one of Hamworthy Heating‘s BIM components, which can be viewed below. And yes, we realise Jack was photobombed by Ermintrude!
