Highwire Design Limited have rewritten their Building Information Modelling software framework to reach a greater audience than ever before.

Formerly known as Hotel-Standards due to being tailored to the construction and specification management of hotels, the rebranded Property-Standards will enable the framework’s use across all construction sectors.

Construction information can now be held in a variety of file formats that are integrated into one, easy-to-use online resource that can be updated to incorporate additional technology and data sources as they become appropriate.

Other notable changes to the transformed include enhanced administration tools and printing options and indexing of PDFs and MS Word documents to enable searching within documents (improved usability). Content management is also improved thanks to the ability to now carry out immediate in-page editing and there is also now greater flexibility relating to design and appearance options.

“The latest update of Hotel-Standards makes it both the newest and most effective BIM tool available whilst maintaining its reputation as a well-established and highly cost-effective development tool,” said Rick Osman, CEO of Highwire.

“The system’s flexibility and modularity means that it can be configured and implemented to exactly meet the needs of its client users and, beyond its use by international hotel chains, it is currently being prototyped for housing associations and room-by-room asset management.”
