Building Information Consultancy BIMAGE have been appointed as Strategic BIM Consultant on a new airport development worth $1.57 billion.

Singapore-based BIMAGE – who also have an office in Dubai – have been bestowed work on the mega money project, which will see them offer advice and assistance in creating a BIM model, using BIM software tools and implementing BIM throughout the build lifecycle.

Yet what is the project they are to work on? To be jointly constructed by Obayashi and Won Hup, Project Jewel, based at Changi Airport, Singapore is a 1.4 million square feet dome-shaped complex with retail outlets designed by architect Moshe Safdie.

Once complete, the Airport’s capacity will be able to reach 85 million passenger movements per year, up from the near 55 million in 2012.
