The second class in the latest B1M University series orchestrated by The B1M has been released to view online.

B1M University gives architecture, engineering, construction and even BIM-specific students a chance to learn more about Building Information Modelling from experts who have years worth of experience to share with the next generation.

As well as giving a University a chance to show how committed they are to producing the next wave of BIM professionals, the teaching initiative also gives chance for businesses to promote their BIM prowess by sending one of their most reputable team members to conduct a masterclass.

Following the first session, which was conducted by URSJames Daniel at the University of Westminster, the second presentation took place in the same venue by John Eynon of Open Water Consulting.

The University of Westminster is just one of four educational establishments that will conduct B1M University events on a rotational basis. The University of the West of Scotland and Loughborough University are two of the partners, whilst it was also recently announced that the University of Brighton will also host future events.

Eynon, who is also CIC South East Regional BIM Hub leader and Vice Chair of BIM4SME, presented what he billed as the ‘8 Pillars of BIM Level 2’ in the 90 minute video which is a must-see resource for anyone interested in learning more about BIM.
