3Squared team with Autodesk to pioneer wearable BIM technology

A Sheffield, UK-based software company have announced that they are teaming with Autodesk, and breaking ground in the world of Building Information Modelling is at the top of their agenda.

3Squared, who have been designing mobile apps and web-based software for over 10 years, are to team with the global technological brand to pioneer innovative wearable technology concepts relating to the construction sector.

The first port of call for the pair will see the two companies unite to brainstorm solutions that will combine Smartglasses with Autodesk BIM 360 Field. According to Business Quarter, “incorporating Smartglasses means exploring different ways and opportunities to capture, present and display information on site.”

In addition to their main project, 3Squared will also test solutions enabling project documentation to be transmitted to an on-site engineering professional via the medium of wearable technology.

Commenting on their exciting new venture, 3Squared Managing Director, Tim Jones said: “It made sense to partner with Autodesk on this project, as both our companies have extensive experience in providing technology solutions to the construction industry. We firmly believe that wearable technology could have a significant impact in the construction industry.
