The British Standards Institution (BSI) has added a new retrospective video to their official YouTube channel of this year’s BSI BIM Conference.

The video is the perfect visual, introductory portal to the basics surrounding Building Information Modelling and features quotes and testimonies from speakers and guests at the event, which took place on Thursday, September 18th, 2014.

“BIM is a significant driver for achieving our ambitions for a changed industry by 2025,” said Peter Hansford, Chief Construction Advisor to Her Majesty’s Government.

Other opinions in the video come from Andy Powell, Head of BIM at Parsons Brinckerhoff; Professor David Philp, Head of BIM at the BIM Task Group and Operations Manager at Mace Group; John Kerbey, Head of Management Systems at HS2; Paul Oakley, the BRE‘s Associate Director BIM and Stephanie Kosandiak, BSI’s Lead Programme Manager amongst others.

HS2’s Kerbey makes a fantastic point regarding why the Government is mandating BIM and why as an industry, we must act now. He exclaimed: “We need to change the way traditional rail projects are delivered in the UK. We can’t say in 20 years time that we wish we implemented BIM. It’ll be too late.”
