Saint-Gobain Glass launch BIM object families

Specialised glass experts Saint-Gobain Glass have began their foray into Building Information Modelling with the launch of BIM object families for free download.

The French glazing manufacturers have release four BIM objects families for download: Saint-Gobain Glass BIM Curtain Wall, Fender, Pfosten-Riegel-Fassade and Window. All objects come with relevant information such as spectrophotometric characteristics.

To coincide with the worldwide launch, the BIM solutions will be displayed at the glasstec Trade Fair, in Düsseldorf, Germany from October 21st till the 24th.

Saint-Gobain Glass’ Vice President Sales & Marketing, International Development, Denis Meeus described the object launch as allow the firm “to be part of this pioneering development [BIM] and to support our customers with highly intelligent planning models.”

He elaborated: “BIM is the future of architecture. It is going to change the way buildings are being designed. BIM technology enables a more efficient and cost-saving approach.”
