Cheshire-based Concerto Support Solutions have launched their newest Building Information Modelling validation and collaboration tool.

Concerto’s Common Data Environment (CDE) allows for users to combine, share and validate all of their BIM documentation and models in one browser, without the need to download any plug-ins.

The CDE tool allows for users to check and review all of their model data alongside PAS1192-2 and 3 standards guidelines, meaning that information such as COBie will be efficiently checked to avoid critical errors occurring at a later stage in the project.

Concerto’s Operations Director Greg Davies says that the CDE tool stops projects from getting off to “fundamentally flawed” starts. He said: “The validated COBie data drops and other information used during the project management of your assets form the basis of your 3D models and information used during the operational phase.”

If this initial project data is not validated and approved then all data from then on risks being fundamentally flawed which could have detrimental effects on the overall operational management of assets. We offer a complete BIM enabled common data environment for the entire lifecycle of your assets. This spans from the project side initial inception, design and build, right through to FM operation management.”

Concerto’s overall strategy is to provide a single centralised umbrella solution for the complete life cycle management of a project, which CDE’s HTML 5 single browser functionality is part of.

“Our solutions allow people see the whole environment without having to jump from other pieces of viewing software and can render info within web based project environment without leaving it”, elaborated Davies.
