BIMcrunch can today announce the inaugural BSL event tailored exclusively to present Building Information Modelling object manufacturers or firms that are wanting to develop their products in a BIM-enabled format yet are not quite sure how to take their next step.
Having your company’s portfolio of components available for Building Information Modelling software such as Autodesk Revit or GRAPHISOFT ArchiCAD will open up a whole new window of opportunity for your corporation. Your BIM output will be available as free downloads to architects, who will then be able to choose your object families from a catalogue of products compatible with their software platform.
Once placed in a 3D model, your products will be purchased and then time has already been saved; looking for suitable real-life versions of products is avoided, saving precious time and a significant amount of effort. As the project team already selected a suitable product early in the project’s lifecycle, they know that it fits into the building perfectly due to running clash detection checks available within BIM software.
At BIM Show Live for Manufacturers, the best ways to enter the world of BIM will be addressed thanks to talks from industry experts. BIM consultants BIM.Technologies will be represented by their Technology Director, Adam Ward and one of their top Information Managers, Olly Thomas. The pair will conduct ‘Define and Validate’ and ‘Design and Prototype’ presentations respectively.
Attendees can also hear from Craig Sewell, Director of Branding & Marketing at Cubicle Centre (read Craig’s blog here). The toilet cubicle manufacturer are a BIM success story having celebrating major success after their bathroom essentials were hosted on bimstore. Craig will discuss the third step in a BIM project’s lifecycle as part of the ‘Manufacture and Assemble’ seminar.
‘Operate and Maintain’ forms the fourth and final quarter of the conference and will provide an insight in how BIM components can aid asset and facilities management workflows. The speaker is to be confirmed.
Speaking to BIMcrunch, BIM Show Live Founder and Space Group CEO, Rob Charlton said: “I believe that BIM Show Live for Manufacturers will be a great source of knowledge for company’s wanting to expand their businesses ahead of the UK Government’s 2016 Level 2 BIM mandate.
“We have the venue and we have the fantastic guest speakers. Now, we welcome you, the manufacturers to take your first steps into the world of opportunities that Building Information Modelling offers.”
Much like BIM Show Live Scotland, the event is a one-day affair and will take place on Thursday, November 20th, 2014 at the Building Centre in London.
