Heating and ventilation solutions manufacturers Jaga Heating Products have published a new video explaining why they decided to venture into the world of Building Information Modelling.
Presented by Jaga’s UK Managing Director Phil Marris, the video sees him discuss how the Government’s 2016 Level 2 BIM mandate acted as a catalyst for Jaga’s BIM adoption, the feedback the firm received from architects and contractors they approached during their research stage and how they worked closely with BIM object creators bimstore to get the best advice and service they needed in-order to kick start their BIM journey.
“My goal is to make sure we’re doing everything we can to help architects, engineers and construction professionals deliver sustainable, successful construction projects”, said Marris. He continued: “The provision of high quality BIM information and resources for our products and systems is a key part of that.”
Before investing in BIM, Jaga contacted various AEC professionals to gain feedback about what they needed and after getting some detailed feedback, Jaga called on bimstore to advise them and create BIM objects. As well as delivering on the requirements the surveyed professionals were looking for, bimstore also gave Jaga some sound tips to follow. Marris explains:
“They [bimstore] told us that it’s important to provide facilities managers and building operators with good quality O&M information, so we’d made sure that’s all included too.” It is important that this information is available as BIM is as much about a building’s entire lifecycle and its keep-up as it is about the construction process.
