Guardian Glass UK launches BIM object families

Window manufacturing firm Guardian Glass UK have launched several families of Building Information Modelling objects.

Window News are reporting that Guardian decided to have BIM objects created to accommodate for the growing demand from clients to have their products available for BIM software.

All of the products now online were modelled using products such as SunGuard, ClimaGuard and SatinDeco and are available in both Autodesk Revit and IFC formats. Windows that can be downloaded can be either be specified as a design material in their own right or in single, double or triple glazing, which each of the latter options having data variations to account for features such as laminated glass and heat treatments.

Guardian Glass UK Architectural Sales Manager, Paul Anderson spoke of the company’s journey into BIM. He said: “The way architectural projects are being designed and created is changing; there is a growing need for specified glass to be supported with BIM objects. Staying ahead of these new innovative processes is paramount to ensure we can provide the right products and support required to meet the needs of project design teams, from specification through to construction.”
