CIBSE wants your feedback on its Product Data Templates

The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers is hoping for a big response to its new Product Data Templates, which automate the process by which general product information is transferred to BIM models.

According to CIBSE’s knowledge base, “each PDT aims to anticipate the information sought by every party – from specification through operations to decommissioning and replacement. “

“PDTs are written in Excel format and are usable with all BIM platforms,” the site states.

With the first eight of these PDTs now in the public domain, trade associations and manufacturers are being called upon to give their impressions on, among other things, whether PDTs accurately describes their product types.

RAC, the refrigerating and air conditioning magazine, has the full list:

  • Air Diffuser
  • Heat Detector
  • Isolation Valve
  • Luminaire
  • Manhole
  • Pump
  • Radiator
  • Smoke Detectors
