ASSA ABLOY have showcased their Opening Studio software in a new demonstration video.

Uploaded to their official YouTube channel, the video explains how the door and hardware suite works and how it can be useful to transform your BIM models.

Opening Studio, which can be linked with Autodesk’s Revit and Navisworks, allows architects and construction professionals to create, visualise, modify and export door family libraries that can be used in the pre-design or pre-construction stages of a project. Swinging, sliding, overhead and curtain panel door types can found within Opening Studio’s database, with all connected being within the software to URLs that link the user to manufacturer websites.

docLINK is a standout feature of the software allowing users to access production information such as PDF catalogue pages, data sheets, installation guides and lifecycle performance reports from ASSA ABLOY’s servers, simply by hovering over an opening object.

Another useful function of the plug-in is it allows facilities managers to access their projects and its accompanying as-built opening details without the need for a Revit license – very useful indeed!
