Bouygues Construction have released an online guide looking at Building Information Modelling.
The France-founded company have published a highly interactive guide split into 7 categories including ‘An Evolving Tool’, ‘Better Construction’ and ‘Better Exploitation’.
The guide features diagrams, facts, BIM case studies, a mock interview with a works’ supervisor in 2035 and informative videos including a 3D visualisation of an apartment and another showcasing clash detection.
Discussing the guide, Chairman of Bouygues Yves Gabriel said: “We are in no doubt that digital modelling is the future and it represents a major source of progress. More than ever, we have to find a different way of working that will enable us to confront the new challenges in the construction industry.
“BIM is today playing a key part in the shift to more industrial construction methods, which will allow us significantly to reduce lead times and costs, which will be in everyone’s interest.”
