Building Design Partnership have announced their latest BIM project.
Planners have given the go-ahead for Northamptonshire County Council’s new complex, which will see the council’s workforce transpose from twelve separate locations into one headquarters.
Last summer, BDP won a design competition which enabled them to seal the thirty-four million pound contract and only now has planning permission been granted for the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM) Excellent building.
Council leader Jim Harker expressed his obvious happiness at the news: “We are clearly delighted to have secured this permission which is a real landmark paving the way to one of the most significant regeneration developments in the town under the Northampton Alive programme.”
Two thousand staff will move to the new city-centre build, meaning a major potential increase in revenue for local businesses.
The search is now on for a main contractor, who will be announced in September 2014.
