BIM Task Group’s newsletter publishes 40th edition

BIM Task Group’s milestone 40th newsletter is now online.

The latest instalment of the publication hit the web today and is headlined by an interview with Steve Thompson, who chairs BIM4M2: BIM 4 Manufacturers and Manufacturing.

Steve discusses the recent formation of BIM4M2 and the success the group has had thus far. He said:

“BIM4M2 is a working group of people and organisations concerned with BIM for manufacturers (the organisations) and manufacturing (the process), said Steve, who can be followed on Twitter by clicking here. The group was formed by the Construction Products Association (CPA), but is separate to and independent from it. Whilst the CPA have had a small shadow group for quite some time, we launched officially as BIM4M2 in March this year, and already have an enthusiastic mix of manufacturers (both SMEs and multi-nationals), consultants and content providers.”

The BIM Programme Manager for Tata Steel also talks the importance of manufacturers to the BIM process and the increase in demand for digital product data in addition to his early life and career.

The 22-page piece also looks in-depth at the recent NBS 2014 survey, the latest on an EU project and more.
