ACO Building Drainage have released their first Building Information Modelling files for download.
The Bedfordshire-based drainage firm have become one of the first drainage companies to launch BIM products for free use.
Following substantial customer research into the most frequently used software on the market, ACO opted to align it’s BIM objects with both IFC and Revit software.
By the end of 2014, ACO Building Drainage’s entire catalogue of products will be available in BIM format, yet available from the launch now are their Deckline 125 galvanised steel and Modular 125 stainless steel drainage systems.
Divisional Managing Director of ACO Building Drainage Andy Buchan has cited the Government’s 2016 target for the integration of BIM in all it’s public sector projects as a reason for his company to venture into the world of BIM.
Buchan said: “We felt it was essential to invest in the creation of the 3D BIM files that our customers will require for project modelling, specification and information management purposes. Our own in-house design team will also be on hand to answer customer queries with regard to BIM.”
