UK BIM Crew: Construction Industry Challenge

The 15th London Construction Industry Dragon Boat Challenge takes place at West Reservoir, London, N4 2HA on Thursday 27th June 2013 – and this year a team made up of various individuals from the UK BIM Crew will be entering, so we thought BIMcrunch should get behind them in promoting their efforts!

Starting early afternoon, up to 40 crews are expected to battle it out over the 200m race course, aiming to become top crew in the industry – whilst being watched by several hundred spectators.

The aim of the friendly competition is to raise money for CRASH – a construction based charity raising money and awareness for homeless people throughout the UK. Hundreds of construction industry companies have already discovered the fun of entering and raised over £240,000 for CRASH – so make sure you support the BIMcrunch boat this year.

The Dragon Boat Festivals website states: “Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and the fastest growing water activity in Britain today – as well as the most fun! Up to 10 people paddle each 30’ boat with a drummer at the front beating time and a helm at the tail steering a straight course. No previous experience is required, just plenty of team spirit!”
