We here at BIMcrunch are still getting withdrawal symptoms from Digital Construction Week, a future-gazing event that got us excited for what is in store for Building Information Modelling professionals in the coming years. Whilst there, news broke of our latest Media Partnership, a thrilling next chapter in our relationship with Asite.
Certainly something to look forward to in 2016, details regarding the latest Build Earth Live competition were unveiled, with the upcoming competition set for April 11th-15th, 2016!
The news was broken by Asite’s CEO, Nathan Doughty in a presentation looking at the success of Build New York Live, the most recent competition that saw us enlisted as a Media Partner. For the next BIM collaboration competition, we’re back on-board.
2016’s BEL contest will pit teams from across the world against one another to design a Hyperloop station. Hyperloop is a cutting-edge rail concept that will see the mode of transportation travel at a whopping 700 miles per hour. The infrastructure enigma has got the entire industry talking, so tying into that is a fantastic move on Asite’s part. Who knows, perhaps the winning design could used as an actual station in reality?
In addition to the next competition’s announcement, it was also revealed that Asite are holding a Build New York Live evening on November 24th to celebrate the successes of the winning teams. It also serves as an opportunity for those not at the awards ceremony in New York to collect their trophies.
