Despite being based in Melbourne, Building Information Modelling professionals from Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth are set to fly in to the next MelBIM event, ensuring that it is a truly nationwide affair celebrating the best in Australian BIM.
Alongside a presentation from Melbourne’s own Michael Alder of Arup, PRECOG‘s Tom de Plater is jetting in from Brisbane, Adelaide is represented by Hansen Yuncken‘s Chris Penn and Colin Dibb from Perth will be flying the flag for Webber & Associates for what will be a fantastic night of #FreeBIM.
Themes for the conference, which is sponsored by Mitchell Brandtman, include Beyond Reality: Scanning, Modelling and FM handover, Zero to gaming hero in 14:48 and Open BIM workflows for Construction.
MelBIM Co-Founder and Committee Member Luke Johnston told us: “Three of the four presenters at this upcoming event are flying in from interstate to present on the night. I think this is a good indicator of how the event is perceived within the industry at present. People want to come and people want to present, which is fantastic.
“The popularity of these events just continues to grow, which I think reflects the industry’s increasing interest in BIM as much as it does interest in the event itself.”
Taking place from 17:15 until 20:30, the next MelBIM takes place at RMIT Melbourne on September 3rd, 2015.
Organisers revealed that in just six hours, 250 tickets had been registered, one of the quickest ever responses from professionals. MelBIM tweeted:
MelBIM event #4 is filling fast. 250 registrations in 8 hrs. Better be quick. MelBIM, the place to be seen. http://t.co/MrKz78c4HZ
