The event will take place on October 21st at Park Plaza Victoria Hotel, in London, United Kingdom with the focus of this year’s discussion centred around realising the promise of Building Information Modelling. The day will also address what can and can’t be achieved using BIM to operate and manage assets.
The Chairman of the UK BIM Task Group, Mark Bew will act as Chair for the event for the fifth year running and other speakers confirmed include Director of BIM Strategy and Development at Atkins, Anne Kemp, Head of Technical Information at Crossrail, Malcolm Taylor and James Eaton, Group Head of Digital Engineering at Laing O’Rourke.
ICE believes that BIM and its processes have the power to change the construction industry. The Institution works continuously with government, clients and other stakeholders to ensure that infrastructure benefits from implementation. ICE annually conducts a BIM “heat map” survey, which seeks to find out more about application of the model in the built environment. The 2015 questionnaire is available online.
The aforementioned Kemp commented exclusively to us regarding what is expected from the event. She said: “We are talking about transformation of the entire industry – working collaboratively and overcoming the silos, whether those be of our organisations, our disciplines or our technologies. ICE’s BIM Action Group works to share knowledge and ensure that we work across the various groups to support the overall UK BIM strategy. I feel privileged to be personally involved with this effort – which for me can be celebrated and challenged through the ICE BIM conference.”
ICE BIM‘s Project Manager, Kathryn Stilwell discussed working with BIMcrunch for the 2015 edition of the popular symposium. She declared: “We are very excited to welcome BIMcrunch as a Media Partner for ICE BIM 2015 and look forward to working together in gathering leading experts and senior industry figures at the meeting on October 21st.”
Jack White, Editor of BIMcrunch shared his thoughts too: “ICE BIM is a prestigious event in the BIM calendar and I am delighted that BIMcrunch have been selected to help spread the message behind the conference. With popular speakers like Anne Kemp and Mark Bew on board, this will be an event not to be missed.”
