Autodesk® has announced the launch of the next generation of BIM 360 Glue®.
This major new release includes a completely redesigned and simplified user experience to make it easier for project team members to learn and use BIM 360 Glue for collaborative BIM coordination.
BIM 360 Glue now also uses the same Autodesk core coordination and viewing technology found in Navisworks to support more than 50 file formats and to ensure identical clash results for the same clash tests run in BIM 360 Glue or Navisworks Manage.
The entire extended project team can now experience consistent coordinated model viewing across Autodesk desktop, cloud, and mobile solutions, from Navisworks to BIM 360 Glue and BIM 360 Field.
You can also keep working in the exisitng version while exploring and using the new version. To assist this transition, Autodesk has created a new BIM 360 Glue host site with the same host site name you would currently use for BIM 360 Glue. And, users from your existing site are also available in the new site. When you create a new project, you can invite any of these users into your project.
However, you cannot move project data such as models, markups, and clash reports from the older version of Glue to the new version. For this reason, it’s recommended that you use the new Glue product for any new projects that you create.
When you first access your new Glue site, take a few minutes to go through the getting started material for administrators. It gives you a quick overview with supporting videos for using the new Glue user interface. For example, it shows how to create a project, invite team members, and run a clash. It’s fast and simple, ensuring you quickly become familiar with the new Glue.
